About
Product Designer & Technical Developer
I work across product and furniture design, combining creative development with a practical understanding of how things function, come together and can actually be made. I originally started out in engineering, but realised that a purely technical direction left too little room for the creative side of how I like to work.
I approach design analytically: reducing problems to their essentials, solving the core issues and building from there. My preference is always for solutions that are clear, efficient and no more complicated than necessary.

A technical mind with a creative direction
I originally started out in engineering, but realised that a purely technical direction left too little room for the creative side of how I like to work. Product design gave me that freedom, while my analytical way of thinking remained an important part of my approach.
Early on, I sometimes saw that technical mindset as something I had to work around. With experience, I learned to use it as a strength instead — combining creative development with a practical understanding of how things function, come together and can actually be made.
How I approach a project
Understand what really matters
I start by understanding what the project needs to achieve, which constraints matter and where the actual problem lies. I prefer to make choices understandable, without expecting a client to understand every technical detail behind them.
Solve the problem at its core
I tend to approach problems analytically: reduce them to their essentials, solve the core issue and build from there. If a direction does not work, I would rather reconsider the approach than keep adding complexity to compensate for it.
Keep it clear
My preference is always for solutions that are clear, efficient and no more complicated than necessary.
Experience across the process
My experience covers different parts of the design and development process. I have worked in 3D visualisation, where communicating an idea clearly was an important part of developing and presenting a product. In custom furniture, I worked across the complete project process — from the first client conversation and concept development through technical detailing, production preparation and delivery.
I have also worked in technical product development, refining products through feedback, engineering and production requirements. That experience taught me to look beyond the design itself and consider how early decisions affect manufacturing later on.
